Cleaning Food Stains in Your Car

When you are always on the go, you cannot avoid eating in your car from time to time. You also cannot avoid making a mess on occasion. However, food stains in your car's interior can detract from your professional appearance, so here some tips to help you clean up and keep your vehicle stain-free.

Blot any stains using a paper towel once food spills onto your car's seats or carpet. Dab the towel at liquid spills and collect all solid food spills before these can have the chance to settle on the surface. Get a bowl and pour a cup of water and 1 teaspoon of laundry detergent into it. Stir the mixture with a spoon until there are soap suds. Dip a piece of cloth into the solution and scrub it over the stain. Use circular motions when you are trying to work the stain out of the material. Repeat this process until the stain has been successfully removed.

If the laundry mixture does not get rid of the food stain, get some baking soda and pour a thick layer of it over the discolouration. Let it stay for about five minutes, then moisten a cloth with warm water and use it to scrub over the baking soda. Make sure that you work the soda into the stain and keep repeating this action until the stain finally disappears. To finish the job, wipe the area with a damp, clean cloth to collect any residues. Your car interior will be, once again, spotless.
